The Labour Party uses a mixture of voting procedures and it can be quite complex to conduct a ballot – especially a preferential ballot with lots of candidates!

Hopefully this Party Guidance Note will assist you in ensuring the process is followed – be warned: when members are not certain of how a ballot should be properly conducted, it leaves it open for unscrupulous persons to manipulate and “fix” things!
